Dear DB2 clients, This may be an important information for your DB2 environment. I kindly ask you to forward this message to the relevant people in your organisation if you are not the most appropriate person for this message. Please ignore (and apologies) if you are not running DB2 on AIX O.S. The latest AIX service packs on AIX 6.1 TL07 and AIX 7.1 TL01 have a problem impacting DB2. The problem causes DB2 to crash intermittently. It is recommended that customers using DB2 Versions 8.2, 9.1, 9.5, and 9.7 do *not* upgrade to the following levels until an ifix is available. AIX 6.1 TL07 SP4 AIX 7.1 TL01 SP4 AIX has found the problem. APAR numbers should be available shortly. It is caused by a regression in IV12884, which fixes a problem where static constructor was not called on AIX 6.1, 7.1 for a program built on AIX 5.3 (or earlier I assume) IV12884 is for 6.1 TL07 SP4. IV16240 is for 7.1 TL01 SP4. These are the only vulnerable levels. All of DB2 8.2, 9.1, 9.5, 9.7 are vulnerable. An ifix should be available shortly.
