poll_uplink and PowerHA tipHere’s a tip I picked up from the IBM support team. I’ve not tested this myself but it looks sound. I will try to test this in my lab soon and report back.
“You can use SEA poll_uplink method (requires VIOS 2.2.3.4). In this case SEA can pass up the link status, no "!REQD" style ping is required any more.
Yes, you can install VIOS 2.2.3.50 on top of 2.2.3.4. This change requires a reboot # lsattr -El ent0 | grep poll_uplink # clmgr -f modify cluster MONI

Hello
great
info - but one thing is unclear to me. What does it mean for the
netmon.cf? It is clear, that I can remove all !REQD statements. But do I
need to return to the old style configuration or can I just leave it
empty ?
Regards,
Uwe
2.2.3.3 or 2.2.3.4 are the recommended levels. 2.2.3.0. introduced this feature but there were some problems at this level that were addressed in the newer levels (IV55383).
Thanks for answering.
What PowerHA Version do I need?
Or is it a special rsct version?
Because when I query MONITOR_INTERFACES on my clusters, it is unknown
ERROR: an unrecognized "modify cluster" option was detected: MONITOR_INTERFACES
Hi cggibbo,
I got two questions:
1) is VIOS 2.2.3.4 really required or does 2.2.3.1 suffice?
2) what PowerHA Version is required?
Thank you for your blog entries!
Kind regards
